Fantastic camp and huge adventure play ground
River Dart Country Park的点评
点评：We've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. It's a fantastic outdoor park with so many adventure areas where kids can run free. This time we camped, and since it was out of season, we had loads of space to ourselves. That said, even in high season the individual pitch sites are pretty generous, so you should still have plenty of room.
The showers and toilet block were clean and tidy, and everything worked well where we were pitched in the Meadow.
As for the park itself, if you're into highly maintained, ride-heavy theme parks this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you prefer something a bit more ‘organic’ — beautiful woodlands, wooden forts, rope swings, and giant slides around every corner then you’ll absolutely love it. There’s very little tarmac or concrete in the adventure park, but the paths are well maintained with gravel or bark. If it’s been raining, you’ll probably get a bit muddy, but that’s all part of the fun and you just need to come prepared.
Yes, the water is a little cold since for swimming as it’s fed straight from the River Dart, so wetsuits are definitely handy if you plan to stay in for a while. But it’s great fun, especially for the kids in the Pirate Lagoon, which is reasonably shallow (waist-deep for adults at most). And for adults, we love to go swimming in the River itself. There are so many spots as the river follows the edge of the park, and you can really get away from the world for a bit
