Lovely Country Pub With Campsite Near the River Trent

点评：We visited for Sunday lunch after a day out. It was cold and miserable day when we arrived. We were welcomed by a roaring fire and a warm welcome by the landlady and landlord. The bar staff were efficient and was very friendly. The clientele were was friendly and welcomed children. Dogs are also welcome if well behaved. We soon forgot how cold it was outside and was soon down to a shirt with coat and jumper removed. Considering the weather outside this was pure bliss.
They had a good selection of beers, including lagers, bitters hand pull ales and ciders. Also the usual selection of wines and spirits. All well kept and perfect quality.
The Sunday lunch was excellent and reasonably priced. There is a choice of meats to suit everybody and decent meat as well. The quantity was more than ample and came with more vegetables than our group eat. There was also 2 gravy boats full or extra gravy. Perfect!
This a a popular pub and rightly so. It can get very busy so booking is a good idea.
There is also a campsite and they often have live music so looks like being a regular for us over the summer.
