点评：I walked the section of canal from Bath to Trowbridge one day and was appalled by the amount of boats moored along the tow path, I completely understand the love of living on a boat, however when this means that a great deal of these owners are clearly having fires on the towpath, turning a tow path into places to house their pets and poultry, destruction of the flora and fauna, repairing of the boat and allowing the waste produced to enter the waterways, leaving bags of rubbish on the tow path, boats which look as though they haven't moved in a great deal of time. All impacts on the beauty of an amazing waterway. However, I did see evidence of responsible boat owners and tourist enjoying the waterways. But, sadly these were far less. I do hope that the authorities who look after the waterway, will one day walk the entire route and make the changes required to bring this amazing waterway back into order.
