Over priced and underwhelming
Sawmills Inn Watermouth的点评
点评：Really wanted it to be good but fell way short of expectations.
The venue itself if very well presented, great decor and design. The food however is well below the mark for value and quality. We had a few different starters. my pate with “toasted” bread Was brushed with oil and held under a hot light not toasted at all. Saw the table next to us having this starter and my portion was half the size?
The mains were no better. The fish and chip batter was soft and doughy, it’s served with fries not chips(doesn’t say that on the menu), again meant to be fish and “chips”. the kids cod goujons are freezer buffet items not made fresh and charged £9 for! The chicken burger is again 2 x frozen chicken patties deep fried and put in a burger and £16!! The only acceptable main was the vegan coconut curry. Also very very slow service. We sat late and there were 4 tables inside and was nearly 2 hours for starters and mains. Well over £100 for what cost them close to £20
I personally have 25 years under my belt in hospitality and The Saw Mill is over priced for frozen, badly served food. It’s a shame as the venue could be amazing just need to update the menu of their food supply.
