Lovely place, but food hit and miss depending on choice.

点评：My daughter and I decided to stop in today for some lunch on our visit to Lavenham.
On the whole the place is very well presented with lovely decor.
Staff were friendly enough.
We didn’t want a huge meal as it was early and very hot so ate from the lunch board and not the main menu.
I had a bagel with prawns and Marie Rose sauce. It was delicious with big meaty prawns chopped up and a side salad of mixed leaves and onions and tomato in a dressing. I thought it was ok for the £11.
My daughter had an egg mayonnaise salad which to be honest was a bit disappointing as it didn’t really consist of much.
The salad itself was a big version of my side salad. It was simply mixed leaves with the odd bit of tomato and onion.
On top was a huge amount of egg mayonnaise.
To me that is not what I would expect for £18 at all. Where was the rest of the salad? Very bland and unexciting. I would have expected some coleslaw, potato salad or some cucumber. Anything else really.
Still, it won’t put us off and we will try again for dinner one evening and eat from the full menu as it is a lovely place in general.
