点评:If travelling from the A303 direction you’ll find the museum a short distance on the left past the main airfield entrance and there’s plenty of parking. Before entering the museum I walked along the path from the car park, past a number of memorials to the Army Flying Memorial which was completed in 2017. Overall, I spent around 3hrs at the museum as there’s more to see than you might expect, including a large area devoted to the Glider Pilot Regiment and an interesting reproduction of a 1940s house. The Apache Mk1 helicopter is a recent addition to the collection and when seen flying around the airfield they seem small compared to their actual size close up. All but three exhibits are inside and so preserved from the elements. The cafe has views across the working airfield and can be accessed without visiting the museum. There’s a small gift shop and second hand book sales area just inside the museum entrance. Military Veterans have free access with their Veterans ID Card.
