Beautiful, especially the staircase!
奥古斯塔斯堡古堡的点评
点评：We stopped here a year or two ago, but only got to see the gardens since the palace was closed to tours then. We returned this year in mid-March, and finally got to take a tour!
The palace can be accessed only during a guided tour. We bought tickets to the next scheduled tour, which was in German. Since we don’t speak it, they gave us audio guides to use during the tour (no additional fee). They worked very well, and I learned a lot of information despite knowing no German.
Photos are officially allowed only in two or three rooms. The tour guide explained it was because of people taking too many pictures, and the tours getting backed up. There were several people in our tour who discreetly and quickly took photos anyway, and continued to keep up with the group. Nothing was said about it.
The staircase is definitely the highlight of the tour. It’s gorgeous. Very ornate. There were a few other rooms that were also really pretty.
I greatly enjoyed the tour. I’ve seen several palaces now during my travels to Germany. I would rank Augustusburg Schloss below Wurzburg and Ludwigwburg palaces, but above Mannheim and Bruchsal.
