Off the beaten track, but worth the trip.

点评：Off the beaten track, however, what a gem! Plenty of roadside parking in a very quiet country lane. Stunning views of the countryside immediately we alighted from the car. A short walk to the NT reception, tucked away in a small barn. The handbook stated no cafe, that said, there is a seated area near the stables providing all the needs for tea and coffee. We enjoyed a really good freshly brewed coffee (biscuits too).
We took in the guided tour, well recommended. Our guide was both informative and humourous too making the history of the manor come alive. It would appear that lawyers over the centuries haven't changed that much..
The grounds and gardens are maintained by one mploed gardener and a number of volunteers. What an excellent job they do too. Plenty of benches and chairs dotted around together with really warm sunshine meant for a somewhat leisurely day.
