点评：The "Basilica di Santa Anastasia" (Basilica of St. Anastasia) is officially anmed "Basilica di San Pietro da Verona in Santa Anastasia" (Basilica of St. Peter from Verona in St. Anastasia). The original church on thi site was an Arian church from the Gothic era, dedicated by the Ostrogothic king Theodoric to Anastasia of Sirmium.
Building of the current church started around 1290. It took two centuries for the completion - except for the façade, that was never finished. The new church was dedicated to St. Peter from Verona, but the old name of St. Anastasia stuck, and the basilica is still called St. Anastasia today. Several side chapels and altars are along the perimeter of the curch.
This is the largest church in Verona, and it houses several art masterpieces, by authors such as Gabriele Caliari, Liberale da Verona, Giovan Francesco Caroto, Girolamo dai Libri, Altichiero da Verona, Martino da Verona, Pisanello, Giambono, Second Master of St. Zeno, Francesco Morone, Felice Brusasorzi, Claudio Ridolfi, Nicolò Giolfino, and many more.
