点评:I last visited around 25 years ago, enjoyed it and did so equally this time round. The visitors' centre and museum are both new since then and, I would suggest, valuable assets. The site museum, though small, does include interesting displays. I did not avail myself of the services of the cafe/shop but I am sure they are welcome to most.
I was fortunate to have a warm, sunny day which made looking round easy and pleasant, because it is obviously not an ideal location when wet and windy, though that is just the nature of the site. The ruins are reasonably extensive with fair display boards but my recommendation would be to make use of the free audio guide which has both basic and more extensive information as you wish. I took about 1 hour 15 to go round. You could get round more quickly; I feel I might have spent more time there, particularly in the museum.
Most parts will be accessible to most people but there are some steps and some areas or paths may be a little uneven under foot.
Some might consider it on the expensive side but if you are interested in history and historical ruins even in only a general way, I would say it is well worth it. It is no more costly than most comparable places in my experience. I should add that parking is a charge on top of entry but that is hardly unique either.
