Grand Exterior, Underwhelming Experience
Château Des Charmes Winery的点评
点评：We had booked a wine tasting at Chateau Des Charmes on a cold and dreary Sunday afternoon. The facility is very grand from the outside, although the parking lot was almost empty and we were the only customers there. When we entered the main door we were greeted by man at a podium, and it was clear the interior was under renovation. We sat in a tasting area that felt a bit makeshift - the wines were lined up on what appeared to be temporary tables with stacks of crates behind them, and a bottle of Windex in the customers' view. The wine host was the same well-spoken man who greeted us. The tasting here was the most expensive of any winery we visited, for an experience which included tasting four wines and four small snack pairings of cheese or chocolate. I should note that the final pairing was exceptional and a trip highlight in my husband's point of view, which led to my "good" rating. I visited the washrooms which were surprisingly metal and airport-like and not particularly clean - not what one would expect for the #1 rated activity in NOTL. The gift shop was small and featured the wines for purchase. In hindsight, when visiting NOTL, one would be advised to beware of the high priced wine tastings. You won't get what you pay for - the better overall experiences were either not booked or were lower on the price spectrum.
