Emberra tour: stunning scenery, welcoming hosts, but marred by armed robbery, raising concerns for tourist safety.

点评：We joined a tour to visit the Emberra Indigenous community. The day began beautifully, we took a canoe ride through stunning waterways, then set out on foot through a lush tropical forest to reach a waterfall for a refreshing swim. The scenery was breathtaking, and the members of the Indigenous community who accompanied us were warm, welcoming, and eager to share their culture.
Unfortunately, the trip took an unexpected and unsettling turn. Along the forest trail, a group of armed and masked individuals appeared and robbed almost all of the tourists. They stole our passport, money, phones, jewellery. I was fortunate to be hidden behind one of the Indigenous guides and was not seen by the attackers. While this was a frightening and unfortunate incident, it’s important to note that the Emberra people themselves were kind, generous, and clearly distressed by what happened.
.This experience left me scared for the future security of tourists in the area, and I hope measures are taken to ensure the safety of visitors while preserving the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of the Emberra community.
