Great experience if you’re short on time and want to see some common South African game

点评：I really wanted to give this a 4.5 but it’s not an option.
My friend and I booked the overnight all inclusive stay which from a value for money point of view was outstanding.
It included an overnight stay, 3 hour game drive (we broke this into two 1.5 hour drives), lunch on arrival, 3 course dinner and breakfast the next morning.
The cottage we stayed in was fabulous and well presented with everything you could need for self catering. It included 2 complimentary bottles of wine, chocolates, milk, tea etc.
I have to commend them on their food and service which was outstanding, I’ve been to Aquila before and the food was its downfall, this place does outstanding food.
The reason for my slight downgrade of the star, is the game drive. While we did see springbok, Gemsbok, buffalo, Zebra, Eland and giraffes, but the two Rhino were elusive and we only saw the lions in a small enclosure (they were able to go into a larger enclosure but chose not to) which we drove past, so didn’t really feel like much of an authentic experience. I would have liked a little more variety of animals, but still enjoyed the experience nevertheless.
All in all, for value for money, Buffelsfontein ticks all the boxes, if your primary reason is to see as many African animals as possible, you may want to consider other reserves.
