点评:So, despite the rave reviews, a note of caution. I booked the 11am Sunday tour. Arrived early as instructed but then was kept waiting in the house’s closed garage in 95 degree humid heat, as the tour started about 15 minutes late. The rather small house is NOT air conditioned, so there’s no relief inside once tour starts. Then, with no explanation given, we were told that there is no photography allowed in the largest, main living space of the house. Guards swoop in on anyone desperately trying to snap a quick pic. Since most everyone on the tour probably has a sincere interest in Bawa and design, the no-photo rule seems capricious and nasty. The guide lingers for what seems forever in the lower portion of the house ( the tour could easily be 20-30 minutes, tops, but lasts an hour) until finally letting folks up the underwhelming 2nd floor. You won’t even get to the 2nd floor, btw, if a paying guest is in residence. Honestly, I’m a big Bawa fan but you have to have a lot of forbearance to put up with hot, photo-free, overlong tour.
