点评:Went to see The Manfred's on the 8th October, what a great gig, despite the promoter coming on stage and bemoaning the venue for not promoting the show. He contended that The Manfred's would have sold out but for the theatre's failure to promote the gig. Consequently, as he had guaranteed the venue a £1,000 profit, the shortfall in ticket sales will cost him £700. How dare he come on stage before the concert and moan about his so called loss. That is his contractual problem, not the audience's. Let's face it, a lot of venues are still trying to return to pre-COVID audiences.. Then he went on to say he had some great acts lined up for 202 3 and implied that he might find alternative venues implying that the theatre should not hold him to his contractual obligations. As the promoter perhaps he should have promoted the show himself with a local press release. Hopefully, the Assembly Rooms drop him, as he brought a downer at the start of the night. Not good for a band to come on stage after his moaning.
The venue has single sex toilets, which lot of ladies in the audience find uncomfortable, especially as men do not always lift the toilet seat. Sadly, they serve drinks in plastic receptacles, which are scratched and worn from constant use and should be thrown away. Take a hip flask next time.
On the plus side the theatre is very attractive and comfortable, as are the seats and the theatre is clean and bright. The staff are very pleasant, polite and helpful.
