点评:This goes way beyond the static nature of most museums. The owners go to great effort to make this an immersive experience, delving deep into the psyche of those poor souls who were aboard this ship, whether they survived or perished.
You're handed remotes to use at various points throughout the tour for an audio experience that complements each section. There were a few videos throughout, including a small theater at one point, explaining the science behind the Unsinkable Ship.
We are invited into the lives of every passenger and crew member, with personal details and interesting facts. As you drift deeper into the tour, you almost feel the chill as the end is near. You are approaching the iceberg.
My absolute favorite part of the tour was the penultimate section that explores the angles at which the ship would have been positioned as it plunged into the Atlantic Ocean. There is even a bowl of freezing water that matches the temperature of the water that night. Once you experience just how cold that water was, you'll never be able to watch the movie Titanic the same way again.
You also get to send your own Morse code messages and see how the submarine first discovered the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean all those years ago.
If you are a history buff or, like me, have a strange obsession with all things Titanic, you absolutely must experience this. It is worth every penny. And the gift shop—like everything else about this museum—was also impressive. Often, at the end of tours, the gift shop is full of useless trinkets designed to drive revenue. But this gift shop is different. You can purchase limited-edition items, collectibles, and artifacts made from materials dating back to 1912. I couldn't resist grabbing a few souvenirs, as I never want to forget that memory.
It goes without saying—I wholeheartedly recommend this!
