点评:Our trip to indiana dunes consisted of visits to a few different beaches, seeing the ‘Century of Progress’ homes, hiking Diana's dare, and exploring the Paul H Douglas trail.
We came here because we were curious if Indiana’s only national park was worth visiting as an alternative to traditional high cost tourist spots.
Making that call was tough because, as many other reviewers have pointed out, the encroachment of neighborhoods and industrial areas into the park can put a damper on the experience.
Which is why we made it a point to visit several different areas; we wanted to get the entire picture.
What we learned in the end was that Indiana Dunes deserves to be a national park precisely because of what makes it less attractive: Development. This is a beautiful and special space that has been rescued by its park status. Its being preserved for future generations of wildlife and humans alike and is definitely a very cool spot worth the visit.
5 Stars!
