Gluten-free vegetarian food disappointing
Chesfield Downs Golf Club的点评
点评：I first visited Chesfield Downs for their New Year’s Eve event in December 2024. I was very much looking forward to this event but ended up being very disappointed. As a gluten-free vegetarian the food I was offered was very disappointing. To cut a long story short, I was able to eat the starter (melon) and half the dessert but was barely able to touch the main course. Early in January I contacted Chesfield Downs to make them aware of my disappointment. I spoke to a couple of people who did not call me back when they said they would. Eventually, I received a call from the deputy manager whom I found to be defensive and uninterested in listening to me. Some time thereafter I was invited to meet with the general manager who listened to everything I had to say with apparent respect and interest. After listening to what I had to say, he offered me a full refund for the NYE event and a ticket to another event which I felt was fair considering how disappointed I had been. Eventually, although I had to chase it up, I was given a free ticket for an event in May, which I recently attended. There was no starter with this event, but the main course was a little better than the one I had on NYE and the dessert was also a little better though, again, not particularly special. I have also just received a full refund for the NYE event - almost 5 months after I first complained about it! Although I did eventually receive adequate compensation, all in all, I would not really recommend this venue for eating if you are vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free as there are so many other places locally that offer much better food for a similar price. I do not intend to visit Chesfield Downs again.
