威尔斯王妃剧院的点评
点评：I saw this concert on May 26, 2026. My husband and I were expecting a concert of Neil Diamond songs and hits. We were not disappointed. The format was a bit different as told by Neil Diamond in his 2022 letter in the program booklet. It starts out with him talking to his therapist about his songs, his marriages, children, and life on the road touring. The actor who played Neil was fantastic. His voice singing the songs were exactly like Neil’s. He had the same deep voice and you could close your eyes and swear it was him. His skills on the guitar and singing were amazing.
However, the 2nd half of the show turned dark and sad, mostly about his regrets in his life and the closure he needed. It was a real mood crasher & downer. Plus the stand-in who appeared instead of the original Neil was not as good ( disappointing).. don’t know why the first Neil left.
They closed with the song “ Sweet Caroline” which normally would have everybody standing on their feet, clapping and singing, but nobody in the theatre did this. I think we were all drained by the sad mood before and just sat there and clapped when the performers did their curtain call. Otherwise the performers and band were fantastic!
