Great to see organised life returning to the park. Long may this continue.
Palacerigg Country Park的点评
点评:The situation at the park has changed significantly since the last review was posted. There are no longer animals due to increasing difficulty in complying with animal welfare requirements but the park is still an attractive trip into nature with many walks through the woods and down to the banks of Fannyside Loch with abundant native wildlife to catch your attention.
The visitor centre was closed in 2020 but has recently re-opened through the efforts of the Palacerigg Community Trust who have taken on a 10 year lease and are making big efforts to return the centre to being the vibrant hub that it used to be.
First step is an affordable and friendly cafe offering hot and cold drinks plus snacks with plans to extend the food offering once the kitchen refit has been completed and a new food hygiene license is in place. There is also a fun indoor children's play area for those rare occasions when the sun doesn't shine on this beautiful park of central Scotland.
Elsewhere in the park are two play areas with the smaller one for the youngsters while the bigger adventure play park should keep the older children, or young at heart adults entertained.
Well worth a visit for young and old.
