点评：I had a great chat with one of the workers while waiting in line for the doors to open. Super friendly with a bit of laissez-faire – nothing seemed to bother him. He kept working as he answered numerous questions. Cheerful, unphased, efficient.
A small older venue (opened 1928) with only 600 seats with drinks and a bit of bar food offered for two hours prior to the show. I had wine and pretzel bites – all I needed pre-music. There are also pizzas, wraps, hummus, cookies and a few other snacks.
It felt like I was surrounded by a lot of regular guests. Not being from here, I still felt right at home and it was easy to talk to anyone. Everyone was very friendly.
The seats could use restuffing – mine had a great hole in the middle (under the fabric) so it was uncomfortable but I understand that most of these places live on a shoestring. The place is sparse in general, not too many decorations to take away from the show we come to see here.
The sound was good – I was on the balcony – first row. Price was very fair since you don’t buy a ticket through the big ticketing agencies that gouges you (you save a bit more if you buy directly at the theater’s ticket booth). We need to support these small places so people on fixed budgets like me can still enjoy (while supporting) music that is affordable. (In the $30-$35 range when I went).
The whole show lasted about 2.5 hours – very decent. There was merchandise for sale near the eating/bar area. Bathrooms near the bar area and some upstairs as well. (I’ve seen reviews claiming there were no restrooms downstairs, that is not correct).
If you arrive early enough you can get free street parking in the nearby residential area. It is rather safe. After 7pm you can park at a nearby bank (stated on their website under FAQ).
Good venue overall, nice neighborhood as well. Would happily return should I be in the area again.
