Beautiful and enchanting gardens being restored to their former glory.

点评：Despite living in Suffolk for several years now this was my first visit to these lovely gardens. It certainly won’t be my last as I was absolutely enchanted.
The gardens have a wonderful old world charm enhanced by a sense of faded glories being gradually and lovingly restored.
There is a beautifully planted walled garden with historically significant glasshouses. These are in the process of being with a grant from Historic England and have revealed long hidden secrets including underground tunnels! Wonderful roses are everywhere and the grounds are full of beautiful old trees, some so huge and gnarled that they have to be hugged!! A highlight for me as a keen garden was the two beds dedicated to a huge variety of the largest hostas I have ever seen.
The head gardener is doing an amazing job and was friendly and generous enough to share his enthusiasm and knowledge with us. I could hardly believe that the gardens are being so well run with just a team of four full time gardeners.
A small tea room delivered a fresh light lunch, delicious home made cakes and proper leaf tea in teapots with delightfully mismatched china teacups.
I can’t wait to revisit and follow the progress of these gardens.
Next time I’ll try to visit on a Thursday when tours of the house can be taken too.

下次我尽量在周四去，因为那时也可以参观房子。
