点评:Situated on the south coast of the Ross of Mull Ardalanish Bay Beach is a wide expanse of pristine white sands, rock formations and sand dunes. I first visited here in 1979 and the beach is still as un spoilt today as then. Back then there were no camper vans and the beach was deserted day after day so you could walk and enjoy the scenery.
A single track road takes you down to the bay from Bunessan to a small car park. It is then just over a 500m walk to the bay along a farm road and track. It was raining the day we visited and some of the track and road were quite slippery.
The scenery is some of the best on the Ross.
There are interesting geological formations along the cliffs and a number of pegmatite veins near the Ross of Mull Granite to the west of the beach.
We spent over an hour just wandering along the shore and chatting to the few others who were also enjoying a stroll. Unlike the beaches we were on in Cornwall last year there was no dog mess here, even though there were a number of dogs on the beach.
It is well worth the trip from Bunessan to see this beach.
