点评:Found this by accident, but glad we did.
Jackie, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of seahorses but also on numerous oceanography topics.
Didn’t know anything like this existed.
Think of fish farms or hatchery and apply that to seahorses
In Trying to stop poaching of native seahorses they’ve actually created a strain of sea horses that are viable for home aquariums (which in many cases is the reason people take the native seahorses only to find out that they die within a week or two).
Got to see their entire operation. From raising of brine shrimp as food, through the various stages of growth until the seahorse reach maturity.
And of course, the highlight is getting to hold a seahorse as it wraps its tail around your finger to
Anchor itself.
They have an aquatic touch pool with various sea life for you to interact with as well as an extensive collection in their aquarium room of sea horses from around the world.
Found the experience to be well worth the fee and was happy to help them continue their conservation efforts.
Please note they’re only open Monday through Friday. So plan your trip accordingly.
