点评：I have always found it interesting to visit authors’ homes. Welty is an icon in American letters, and she lived almost her entire adult life within the walks of this Tudor house in a pleasant Southern neighborhood. Visitors start with a 20 minute film in the house next door. There are also handsome exhibits in that space. That space also has a small gift shop and a public restroom.
The guided tours are availed four times a day, and we were the only ones on ours. The house is filled with books, and almost all the artifacts are Welty’s preserved after her accomplished life ended within its walls after 92 years. After the house tour, visitors may look at her garden with its winter blooming camellias.
My visit has encouraged me to reread her work. I would recommend a visit here for anyone interested in her writing.
