点评:This is a large cemetery and is the final home to many well known Dayton residents such as the Wright Brothers, Erma Bombeck, Paul L. Dunbar, former governor Cox, the Mead family, and the Huffman family among others. You can pick up a map at the entrance and driving is your best option unless you have the stamina to walk the entire area. The lookout is a neat way to see downtown Dayton too.
A real disappointment to Woodland is how poorly some of the areas are maintained. For example, the Wright Brothers are a big part of American aviation history. The family graves are not well trimmed, the headstones not clean, and the 3 flags (American, Ohio, and the Wright Flyer) all needed to be replaced-the Ohio flag especially, very worn and tattered. Paul L. Dunbar’s headstone was also in need of a real trim and clean up. Other areas simply needed to be cut & trimmed as well.
If you are in town, it is worth a visit to learn about some local people that made an impact on the nation
