Worth the trip.
Annual Gettysburg Reenactment的点评
点评：We did a lot of research before going and were VERY glad we did.
Pros:
Lots of people dressed in period-appropriate outfits.
Hands-on experience
Authentic feel to the battle, especially with the canons, riffles, and horses.
Cons:
Online planning information is lacking from any official source. It is very hard to know what to bring or what to expect if you are new to this experience.
Logistics were lacking. Limited shade, limited food (long lines) - bring all that you might need plus more.
Tips for someone that wants to do this in the future:
1. Bring a chair & shade (I recommend a chair with an umbrella). During the battle, the first 3 rows of chairs will be asked to drop your umbrella. So those in the back can see. Take your chair and set-up sooner rather than later.
2. Bring a cooler with food and drinks.
3. Bring CASH!!!
4. Dress for being in the sun. (neck fans were our friend)
5. Be prepared to walk in a field and do lots of walking (yes you can use a wagon - wish I would have done that)
Overall, it was a very good experience and I'm happy we went. I recommend.
