Lewes Castle & Barbican House Museum的点评
点评：The grounds of the castle at the bottom could do with some careful planting to make them interesting. There was an absolutely hideous silver looking piece of modern art which was awful and out of keeping with the castle, and a bit where you could see they had stored some stuff but tried to cover it up. I think it would benefit from someone that could plant herbs and shrubs, and perhaps someone walking around in old fashioned clothing to talk to visitors about the castle to bring history to life.
The castle does have actual castle parts and is not a ruin, which is good. It is quite a steep walk up the steps to the castle and up the turret. The view from the turret of Lewes was nice, other than the County Hall building which is awful.
The museum had a good short interesting film about Lewes. However, the museum itself other than the film was pretty boring, it had old bits of pottery and old spears but there was a total lack of story telling and unless you are interested in old pottery and spears then you would probably not find it of interest.
