点评:It must be difficult for the National Trust to manage the large numbers of people who wish to visit this small property. You now have to book to visit but on a busy August day the small, waterlogged car park and some difficulty finding the house meant that some visitors were late for their slots and others early meaning the volunteers had to manage and entertain a queue in the full sun just outside in the garden. I don't know what the solution is, but there must be a better one. Once inside it is a real treat and the room guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The gardens are spacious and rather lovely. One child was keen to buy a book by Virginia Woolf but was told that the trust decided to remove the shop during lockdown and haven't reopened, although there are some 2nd hand books for sale. This seems like a missed opportunity, maybe if there was a pop up shop or kiosk visitors could be directed there when the house is busy.
