Wonderfully Preserved Home of Virginia & Leonard an Excellent Day Out!
Monk's House - National Trust的点评
点评：Had a really wonderful visit to this very special place in a beautiful village.
Great little shop where we were greeted very warmly and went straight into the garden (we had booked online prior)
There was a short wait in Mr Woolf’s lush conservatory before stepping down into the sitting room painted in the glorious green paint! I l had seen so many photographs of this room but the real thing was incredible! The light, the lamps and all the bits and bobs it felt like Virginia and Leonard had just popped out for milk!
The volunteer in the room was so helpful and answered all our questions. It looked so loved and well cared for as did the rest of the house.
All the volunteers were so welcoming and reminded us to not forget the bedroom which was just out of the kitchen in the left!
The garden was a joy and we were totally blown away by seeing the room in the garden where Virginia really wrote! It was so atmospheric and laid out just how she would have had it, including her real desk!
Don’t forget to see the allotments, which are kept partly by villagers. We met a lovely woman in the greenhouse who was taking cuttings who passed on some great tips and garden knowledge including that it was really Leonard’s greenhouse!!
Looking forward to revisiting…😊

别忘了看看那些分配地，部分由村民保管。我们在温室里遇到了一位可爱的女士，她正在扦插，并传授了一些很棒的技巧和园艺知识，包括这其实是伦纳德的温室！！
