A Neat Place to Stop By for an Hour, But a Little Limited
National Capital Trolley Museum的点评
点评：In terms of what the staff can control, the National Capital Trolley Museum is pretty good. The facility is clean, well-kept, and looks current. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the history of trolleys and the trolley technology. That was all rock solid. The trolley ride itself was fun and clearly the highlight of the trip. But, overall, for younger kids (and maybe all people except those with a hardcore passion for the minutiae of public transportation), the museum doesn't offer a ton to do. There is a nice large area with a bunch of old trolley cars, but you can only go inside 2 of them. The other 8-10 are only to be looked at from the outside. And that's kind of it. So, come for 20 min to look around the old trolley cars, spend another 20-or-so minutes doing the trolley ride. And then you're kinda done. Is that worth $12/adult or $10/kid to you? I didn't mind but it wasn't the greatest value in the world. More importantly (for parents especially), just be aware that a visit to this museum is not an activity that takes up the whole morning or afternoon. For parents looking to kill more time between April and October, consider scooting down to Wheaton Regional Park about 12 minutes away and pair the trolley experience with a ride on the mini-train and a stop at the carousel, both of which are cheap and fun. That's a nice 1-2 punch that WILL add up to a solid half day of outdoor fun.
