Royal Liverpool Golf Club的点评
点评：Let me make it entirely clear that I cannot comment upon the golfing aspect. My attendance was as a guest at several functions, and it is this aspect I wish to comment upon.
Both the 'formal' sit down meal and the more informal canapes were both excellent. I wish to underline that. The maître d' was perfect and attentive to all matters; the staff were courteous and superbly trained in the correct way to do things with friendliness and efficiency. And the surroundings were excellent: beautiful table settings and a delightful wine list... But there is a 'but' coming....
The gentleman's toilet is dreadful. Not a topic usually mentioned, but if one attends a function most will need to utilise the facilities, and this one is cheapness personified. Increasingly ladies toilets are civilised, whereas men end up with what we have here, basically a jamjar attached to the wall. No privacy screens. I am sure the committee are a collection of rugger types who are content with this, but many men aren't, and men 'of a certain age' would like privacy. Standing around awaiting the cubicle to vacate is embarrassing. As if that wasn't enough, whatever turnip designed them decided to put the washbasin mirror at right angles to the urinals, thus exposing the entire wall. I am surprised the committee don't go the whole hog and install a floor to ceiling window! This is a serious complaint which the majority of men are too embarrassed to bring up. You have the income to fit cubicles - do so! Until then I shall tactfully decline invitations, which is a great shame for the hard-working staff.

男洗手间糟糕透顶。这通常不是人们会谈论的话题，但参加活动时大多数人都需要使用洗手间，而这个洗手间简直就是廉价的代名词。如今女洗手间的条件也愈发体面了，而男洗手间却还是老样子——基本上就是个固定在墙上的果酱瓶而已。连个隔断都没有。我敢肯定，委员会成员都是些对现状心满意足的硬汉型人物，但很多男性并不满意。那些“上了年纪”的男性更是希望拥有私密空间。站在那里等着隔间空出来实在令人尴尬。更离谱的是，设计这些设施的人居然把洗手池前的镜子设置得与小便池呈直角，结果整面墙都暴露无遗。真奇怪委员会怎么没干脆装一扇从地面直通天花板的窗户呢！这是一个很严肃的问题，大多数男性都因为难为情而不敢提及。您有足够的收入来安装隔间——那就这么做吧！在此之前，我会委婉地拒绝各种邀请，这对于那些辛勤工作的员工来说实在是一件憾事。
