Gorgeous winery and award winning wines!
Domaine Serene Vineyards & Winery的点评
点评：We arrived in the very late afternoon, and the gate was open, so we drove in. Their winery is gorgeous and sprawling…rooms for large groups and intimate environs for small gatherings.
We walked into the bar, where we saw a guy sitting with a laptop, and asked if they were closed. Yes, unfortunately they were. I said we were really late what with Friday afternoon traffic, and that we were in town to celebrate my birthday, He paused a second and said, “Please sit down. Let me take care of you!”
Thus started a really amazing session with Michael. We got off into conversations about French burgundies and Oregon pinot noirs… and a master class on geology, weather, soils, vineyard placement considerations, etc. etc. etc. Every question we had was something Michael had considered and studied. He even explained why French wines have that French terroir (soil/grit) taste at the base of every excellent French burgundy.
We tasted some exceptional wines, and bought some beautiful wines to bring home. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our time at Domaine Serene, other than to tell you to GO! Put it on your list and ask if Michael is there. You can actually request him. You won’t regret your decision. How often do you get to go sit in a gorgeous winery that has won an array of prestigious awards on their wines, and taste what you want? Their Pinot Noirs are legendary! But wait until you taste their Chardonnay. It’s all top flite, and you will enjoy the people and the wine equally!
