点评：Boca de Valeria means mouth of the River Valeria where the Valeria and Amazon rivers meet. The village at the mouth is built on stilts as the Amazon River rises 30 feet during the rainy season, is a remote community with around 90 inhabitants of Caboclo indigenous people , a church and a school. On landing at the dock one is surrounded by children who carrying their pets want you to take a picture for dollar. We took an open motorised canoe with just a roof to visit the giant lily pads where various birds could be observed and Comunidade Santa Rita Valéria. A very poor and deprived area with no roads from Boca but a road network connects from Santa Rita. Santa Rita is a small village, built on a high ground with a bank, church, sports hall and brick built houses, overlooks both rivers. It is approached by a steep concrete ramp starting from River Valaria jetty where a river taxi also stops. No other roads are paved or have a footpath. It was very hot, humid and extremely tiring to walk up the ramp and walk round the village. The canoeist, who spoke broken English, took us round to his house and offered us food and drink, which we politely refused; brick built with corrugated iron roof with one room and stiflingly hot.
