Our hotel recommended a boat tour to avoid the ferry crowds. Big mistake.
We were taken on a very average boat trip to Murano, offloaded to this glass factory.
Glass blowing and 2 items made were OK but have seen far better elsewhere. After glass blowing demonstration we were ushered into tourist shop (trap).
Greatest scam artists, leaves pickpockets at station for dead.
I decided I would only spend €30 and found a nice pair of earrings. Staff member carefully wrapped and then directed me to a booth to pay. On receiving my receipt I realised I had been charged double ie €60. I returned to the counter to check the price to discover the earring display had been removed. Found the earrings at another counter and enquired on the price to be told €60! Suddenly the sales guy who had originally served me appeared and asked if there was a problem. I explained the situation and he apologised for his mistake re the price and took me to the payment booth. I advised I wanted a refund as the earrings I had purchased were advertised at €30 not €60. They tried to pressure me to take another item to make up €60. I refused. The woman on the payment booth said she could not refund and threw €30cash at me.
In short, avoid this scam tourist outlet.
