ARCHERY SUMMIT NEEDS TO BE ON YOUR LIST TO VISIT!!

点评：We had heard of Archery Summit from a vineophile friend who had read great things about the winery, but hadn’t had a chance to visit. It was first on our list!
We arrived about a half hour before closing..apologetic and ready to beg for a tasting! Our host, Grayson, was incredibly welcoming and invited us in to talk/taste Pinot Noirs. He presented a custom flite for us, and it was perfect! Grayson is very knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining the predominant drivers for the wine Archery Summit crafts. They specialize in blocks of specific vines and vineyards plots and then blend them to achieve the profile they are looking for. They have everything from new, let it lay for a few years (or 10-15) and let it develop, to wines that are ready now (and will be even more luscious in a few years.
While we were sitting on the deck, sipping and enjoying the remarkable views of the Dundee hills wine country, a really nice guy with a beautiful old yellow Lab walked by. Turns out he was one of the winemakers. Corey Beyer is a gem, and can answer any question you throw at him. Another great person at Archery.
We had a wonderful time with Grayson, Mark, Corey and the rest of the incredibly accommodating, lovely and knowledgeable staff. We joined the Wine Club, and brought home a back-seat full of their wine. We LOVE what they are doing and think this winery will become a big name in the valley. And we can’t wait to see what develops in the bottles we brought home!
