Lovely scenery. Signage needs to be improved.

点评：Had a wonderful day walking from this carpark at north of the reservoir. Was £3.50 to park for 4hours. At the site is a cafe that sells sandwich and ice creams. There are toilets too and a good sized children's playground. We did a 4hr walk and walked about 9miles.
Had problems getting to the site. Google took us down a dead end down broadstone lane. A tourist sign to this reserve needs placed there to avoid this.
Signage on walks was poor as the National Forest has signs showing longer walks which caused confusion. Also wasn't clear where to go on to the higher up part of wildflower walk. One bit of it starts where sailing club is 50yards of main path to the right.
Signage needs improved. Are too many conflicting authorities on signs on walking routes and missing signs where it is key to have one.
Also a bigger sign needs to show where the farmers field is to get back towards where we parked. We ended up doing another loop which had absolutely beautiful trees on it. Was a tree that was as big as a cauldren at bottom. But we wouldn't have done that loop if signs were clearer. Less fit people would have got very tired doing those few miles extra as well.
The higher up part of walk has some rare wildflowers.
We walked south and ended up at Calke Abbey. It had a shop and we had our lunch a this other national trust site.
On the way you could see lots of sail boats racing on the lake.
Were extensive walks through forests of beautiful trees.
Personally had a super day. But think a 3 star review that is fair until signage of walks is improved. If you are a good walker this is a good place to come and start your walk from.
