Truly a slice of the Eden, island paradise.

点评：This place remains my most favourite place in Madagascar. You are truly in the lap of nature and completely off the usual trodden touristy path of Andasibe or Ranomafana.
Our guide Patrick Richards +261 34 71 864 33 e-mail : patrick.v7v@gmail.com is one of the best naturalists I have come across and he organised everything for us with help from Dounia Lodge staff.
The tent pitches are on a raised platform. Some platforms have sand, some have boards. There is a tin roof to protect you from torrential rain, that we experienced.
The tent was spacious and the mattress very comfortable.
You are at the mercy of the weather gods so be prepared. We were about to cancel our trip but Patrick thankfully managed to secure a bigger boat and we landed in this paradise.
Lush green forest hurtling down to the beach. We were the only tourists there. The brown lemurs come within hand shaking distances in the dining area. There are several trails nearby. A very steep trail takes you up to the middle of the forest in search of the black and white lemur which I'm afraid proved too difficult for us. The lemurs were inactive in rain. But the night hike was superb. Numerous frogs, moths, chameleons ( including the tiny Brukesia) , tree boa and an Aye Aye !! I stayed 2 nights at Farankaraina , no luck there !
Come well prepared and enjoy. No electricity of course. I regret we stayed only one night. With better weather this place would be a heaven.
The toilet was clean and the flush worked. The toilet and the bathroom are inexplicably built high up and it is not easy to reach in the night.
Overall, if you are willing to forego some luxuries and are happy with basic camping then this place a nature lover's paradise.

郁郁葱葱的绿色森林蜿蜒延伸到海滩。我们是那里唯一的游客。在餐厅里，棕色狐猴近在咫尺，近在咫尺。附近有几条小路。一条非常陡峭的小路会带你到森林中央寻找黑白狐猴，恐怕这对我们来说太难了。狐猴在雨中不活跃。但夜间徒步旅行非常棒。无数的青蛙、飞蛾、变色龙（包括小小的布鲁克西亚变色龙）、树蟒和指猴！！我在法兰卡拉纳住了两晚，但没找到！
做好充分的准备，尽情享受吧。当然，这里没有电。很遗憾我们只住了一晚。如果天气好一点，这里简直就是天堂。
厕所很干净，冲水功能也很好。厕所和浴室莫名其妙地建得很高，晚上不容易到达。
总而言之，如果你愿意放弃一些奢华的享受，只满足于基本的露营，那么这里就是自然爱好者的天堂。
