Very time and weather dependent so go at your own risk
Cherry Springs State Park的点评
点评：We had a great time at the park and the skies that night were fairly clear. However we could only be in the area during quite a bright moon. Not even a full moon, just a regular moon. We saw tons of stars, could make out the milky way. We saw shooting stars as well as a satellite launch that was great. Tons of open room. Unfortunately our sight was not the best but that was time dependent. We saw more stars than the average person in america would see, but nowhere near the amazing view you see in all the marketing photos for this place.
I think the facility itself is great. The parking lot is very easy to get to from the main road, it is straight ahead and there are no twists and turns, just a big open space only a few feet in. Even if it is dark, you won't have a hard time navigating. Once you are out of your car you just walk behind the earth mound and find a spot to relax in. They have benches but they are all clustered together so I suggest bringing either a chair or better yet, a blanket to lie on because you will be looking up the entire time. The sheer amount of room you have to choose from is great. You can be several hundreds of feet from the nearest person if you want. The only criticism I have is that when you exit the park, they really should put a big arrow sign pointing to the road when you reach the end of the driveway. It ends in a big gravel area and it is not clear at all which direction you are supposed to drive toward, and since it is basically pitch black up there aside from your headlights, it is easy to make a mistake. I'm lucky I didn't drive into something important.
