My first backcountry camping in Restoule
Restoule Provincial Park的点评
点评：Although I had visited this park several times in the past, it was my first visit to a paddle-in campsite.
Pros:
• The campsite was very private, spacious and shaded.
• There was plenty of firewood.
• The food storage bin was very, very convenient—sturdy, roomy and bear-proof!
• It took us just 30 minutes to paddle to the campsite from the parking lot.
• The parking was ample and safe.
• We could see and hear many birds, yet did not see any other animals.
• After a quick paddle to the parking lot, it was possible to take a hot shower!
Cons:
• A lot of mosquitoes, deer & horse flies.
• I like taking daily strolls and there was limited space on the campsite to do any walking.
• It was difficult and dangerous to unload the canoe—there were numerous slippery, sharp rocks in the water along the shallow shore. Eventually we had to arduously drag the empty canoe out of the water and place on the shore.
• Fishing from the shore was very challenging because of low tree branches. It was risky to get into the shallow water and fish from there too, because of slippery rocks.
