点评：We went fathers day weekend and were all very disappointed with this garden. Being June, the rose garden should be in full bloom but, other than 1 row of spent flowers, everything was cut to the ground. The gardens around the mansion were overgrown, not weeded and the formal garden you overlook from the terrace was nothing but a few annuals you could barely see. The wooden structures are are in disrepair, fountains are full of leaf debris and shut off, ponds full of scum and the pansy bed nearly empty. Grass has grown in all of the pathways and paved/stone areas were broken up, heaved or uneven in many areas. We have been to gardens all over the country and this was not worth the time it took us to find parking-it was an event weekend and packed with people. Touring the mansion was lovely but even that needs a lot of work. It is sad to see something that was acquired to preserve being so neglected. For the number of people there I do have to say there wasn't a single piece of trash to be found and all of the staff members/volunteers were pleasant and informative. I didnt even think to take photos because I was so upset by the experience but 100% they would not match the photos that I looked at when we planned the trip.
