点评：A large part of assessing the tour of Littleton Coin Company is setting expectations. If you're expecting a coin museum where you can spend hours on end viewing wall-to-wall coins and displays, you're in for a big disappointment. If you think of it as a mail order company that has a nice exhibit about its products and history then you may be pretty satisfied with the experience.
The tour is offered on a rather limited basis at 1:30pm on weekdays. You go into the modest showroom and ask for the tour. A guide comes down and brings you to mezzanine area of the company. Since you're actually in their working offices during work hours, there's no photography allowed and movement is restricted.
There are about ten display cases which contain a history of the company and coinage. Each area is well-narrated and the displays are nicely laid out. It's unclear how long you can linger at the displays. Since I like to read the signage and take longer looks at details, this is a bit of a drawback. Overall there was good guidance and opportunity to get a good look.
The gift shop has some of their catalog offerings displayed for sale. They claimed that if you found something in the catalog you would like to buy they would get it for you. There is also a chest of world coins, where you can dig through and buy one coin for 25 cents or you can buy a small bag of coins for 10 dollars -- they provide the bag. Plenty has been said about the profit margin for Littleton Coin, here I will simply say that per their offer the break-even point for filling the bag is 40 coins and if you want to get 40 coins in the provided bag you need to look for some pretty small ones. Personally I would recommend taking the opportunity to pay a quarter per coin to get a couple dozen coins you're not likely to find anywhere else. I even managed to find a 1 Euro coin in the chest which did amount to a net profit in my favor.
