点评：he Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum is for anyone interested in the history of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The museum has examples of the planes involved including the P-40 Warhawk, the f4F Wildcat, and 2 Mitsubishi Zeroes. One of the Zeroes is flyable. The other is what's left of the Zero that made a forced landing on the island of Ni'ihau.
For an extra fee, you can go the top of the airport control tower. From there, you can see all of Pearl Harbor, while guides point out the places where particular actions took place.
The museum's best known exhibit is "Swamp Ghost", a B-17, which made a forced landing in a swamp in New Guinea. The crew, who survived, named the wreck "Swamp Ghost". It will probably never be restored, but in its battered condition it is a fitting tribute to the air crews who faced so many hardships.
Museum staff is helpful and happy to answer questions. Your fellow visitors can also be a source of information. One of the people I met there had been ground crew for one of the planes on exhibit; not just the same type of plane, but the actual item in the museum's collection.
Ford Island, where the museum is located, is part of a working military base. There are strict rules about what you can and cannot bring; check for current details. To get to the museum, you take a bus from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center run by the National Park Service. There is some paid parking at the Visitor Center. We arrived early and easily found parking, but I don't know about later in the day.
