点评:I visited Ivinghoe Beacon quite a few years ago and as I was passing I thought I would pay it another visit. It's part of the National Trust and there is a small car park nearby. I visited on a Saturday morning and there was a small van selling hot drinks for people who wanted them.
It's a very pleasant walk from the car park to the top and initially there is a chalk path to take you part of the way there but as you climb up the hill the laid out path ends and it becomes a more loose track.
It is a bit steep to get to the top so make sure you a prepared for a little trek. I would definitely recommend the climb though as once you get to the top the views are magnificent.
You can literally see for miles around!
One thing to look out for is the chalk lion which was created to promote Whipsnade Zoo.
On the day I visited it was a bit windy on the beacon so be prepared for gusts and don't put up your umbrella!
