Great range of animals, poor presentation.
South Lakes Safari Zoo的点评
点评：We visited on Saturday 2nd November primarily to hand feed tigers. The offer for four of us to do this was hugely discounted. We were somewhat shocked at how the zoo presented itself. For the first impression the entrance was dark, uninviting and in need of some TLC. We noticed that the tigers were about to be rehomed so our visit was timely The keeper who led our experience was friendly informed and engaging as he got us to make the feed which he described as a 'packet of crisps size snack' for the big cat. All the big cats looked amazing and healthy. The experience was amazing, safe, up close and memorable. There were Canadian lynx African lions, jaguars and Sumatran tigers were in pairs only the magnificent snow leopard was alone. All of the other creatures we saw were impressive except for a very sad looking boa constrictor. The animals and the keepers apart, the rest of the zoo looked anything but well kept. All the three food outlets looked dark, outdated and presented without pride. I know it was the end of the season so I can only hope that some major effort is put into the faded information boards, walkways, verges, playground, fences and other infrastructure before next year.
