Alex & Santiago were awesome! What a great tour! We were amazed at the beautiful scenery as well!

点评：We took the Mega Truck Country Ride Culture with Lunch from the Carnival Mardi Gras March 12, 2025 and had the best time! The tour of Puerto Plata was very interesting with Alex as our Tour Guide and the excellent driving skills of Santiago! The highlight of the tour was stopping at the school where we passed out baggies of toys and candy, and we gave each child a frisbee! They were so excited and happy to get them! It felt so good to give to kids less fortunate than here in the US. We stopped at a place to have an authentic Dominican Republic lunch, and we were able to hold a beautiful parrot. We stopped at many interesting places along the way, too numerous to list! It was quite an experience! They warned us about how bumpy the ride would be, and they weren’t kidding! Ladies, wear your Sports Bra! It was extremely bumpy, but if you can get past that, you’ll really enjoy your tour!
Alex was very informative, but with his accent and the fact that we sat all the way in the back of the vehicle, we only heard or understood every few words. I would rather have heard about the local areas where people shopped, or hung out in every day life, rather than the entire history of the area. Some people may like the history with the political stuff and all, so you decide. Alex was extremely accommodating, and if we asked a question he made sure to point out what we wanted to see. I wanted to see how cocoa grows, and he went out of his way to show us. Santiago was an amazing driver on the very narrow roads we were on! He was also so nice, and made sure all of us got down the steps without incident getting off the vehicle at each stop! These two men made our tour so fun!
We would recommend this tour if you really want to see how the people of this area live. It’s quite an experience! Very different from the US.
