Fun for fans, a little tight on time
House From A Christmas Story的点评
点评：My family has been fans of the movie A Christmas Story for years and a visit to the house and museum was on our bucket list. We recently moved to within driving distance of Cleveland, OH so decided to visit on a weekday (Monday). Ticket purchasing was simple on-line and the price was reasonable ($20 + tax/person). The house itself has an interesting history and is decorated in the period of the movie. The interior is not a precise recreation so don't expect that but it's generally the same. The tour guide did specifically state that it's an "interactive experience" so you're allowed to pick things up (the Red Ryder BB gun), sit in the Old Man's chair, hide under the sink, etc.. It was a lot of fun. My wife and I really enjoy museums and that (in a house across the street) was full of memorabilia. My only issue was that not enough time was allowed in the museum (both the visit to the house and the museum were on a scheduled timetable). Another 20-30 minutes in the museum would have been nice. There's an extensive gift shop next door to the museum that has pretty much anything you could want that is related to A Christmas Story. Next door to the main house is the Bumpus house. That is for overnight guests only so we didn't see the inside. You can also spend the night in the main house, which we didn't do.
All in all a solid experience. I don't foresee going back but it's definitely worth a single visit.
