Shabby, tired, poor experience
The Carrick Golf Course的点评
点评：Played with a friend using a voucher from our wives.
Clubhouse: decent with good interiors, spa with balcony hot tub overlooking 18th green looks good.
Pro shop: friendly enough but expensive. £18 for a sleeve of pro v’s. £600 for a Cameron House branded Galvin Green jacket which is laughable.
Golf service: non existent after the pro shop. No starter, no buggies (if you want), no caddy’s, no tees etc. - you get the message
Warm up - range balls not provided and it’s too far from the first tee with no transport offered. Nets and mats next to the first tee are about 15 years old, disheveled and covered in gravel - woeful.
Golf course: distinctly average at best. Drainage needs a full reboot. Not well kept at all in general. Fairways ok but nothing special, soaking wet and muddy in a fair few areas. Tee boxes were ok. Most Greens ok as well, diseased in some.
In Sumatra, this place will always have potential to be what they label themselves and think of themselves as - “a Championship Course”. However management and owners must know that is simply not the case. All golf related areas are no more than 4/10 which is abysmal. The course and experience needs complete rethink and a lot of investment for it to work and be of a standard that justifies the price of the clothing in the shop :D
