Ossuary at the Church of St James的点评
点评：💀 Located underneath St. James’ Church, there lies more than 50,000 human remains from the Thirty Years’ War (16th century) and the Swedish Siege as well as victims of cholera and plaque epidemics. Not until recent years (2001) when they started construction and archaeological surveys around the church, they discovered corridors 4 meters under street level with skeletal remains (in some places on the ceiling).
Visiting the Brno Ossuary is foremost an eerie experience, not a scary one. This Ossuary is the 2nd largest in Europe. It might have looked spooky with all the skeletons scattered around, meters and meters of neatly stacked bones now look more like decorations than a scene from a horror movie. Visiting this place is undoubtedly one of the most unusual and memorable things to do in Brno.
