点评:This small, excellent museum was a wonderful overview of Gandhi’s life. While through reading history and watching the epic film I felt I knew something about Gandhi, this museum really brought home his greatness. English speakers will have no difficulty here as all exhibits are in both Hindi and English. As previous reviewers have noted, there is a lot to read. Be sure on entering that you are starting at the beginning (go right after entering and look for the signage about his time in South Africa). His commitment to India and to those in the villages in particular is striking.
The clay figures depicting scenes from his life are good to see, and later in the museum the more interactive displays are helpful.
Walk in the gardens and see his final footsteps and the site of his assassination.
Traveling just the two of us, we had a leisurely visit in just over an hour. We saw groups of up to 25 touring while we were there. Given the tightness of the spaces, a smaller group is more comfortable.
Only a few people are truly great. Gandhi definitely was.
Admission is free.
